Cheers to 2019: The BosBabes Celebrate First Annual Holiday Special With Big News!

When NFL Cheerleader & Founder of StrongHer Organization Alicia Capone walked into the studio on the evening of our 2019 Holiday Special, there was something very different about her. It wasn’t that she’d just been rushing from work to come and join us, and of course she wasn’t nervous about jumping into the studio with us like she’d done before. No, I recognized the smile ear to ear of a girl who’d just recently heard the words that were about to change both her name and her life: Alicia was rocking a GORGEOUS engagement ring, and was ready to share the news with the world.

Yet Alicia’s proposal was one that would bring envy to any true New England fan (and according to her mother, a hard secret to keep!). Much to her surprise, Alicia had been proposed to on the field of Gillette Stadium: and her now-fiancee had worked hard to make sure both of their families were there in person to watch it all happen. With a little help from her fellow cheerleaders, players’ families and even Coach Belichick himself, Alicia’s fairytale moment on the field became a reality with just enough tickets to make sure her family could be there to hold up signs when the big moment came. “Andrea (Andrea Cadigan, Head Cheerleader of the New England Patriots) kept hugging me so that I wouldn’t turn around and notice the signs or see my family in the stands,” Now looking back, no one was talking to me third or fourth quarter and there were all these little hints to put more makeup on or lipstick, one of my teammates started brushing my hair..I didn’t think anything of it!” As she was waiting to do what she thought was walking a former veteran on the field, she began to notice signs but says it all felt like a beautiful blur. “I remember being so excited that I can’t even remember what he said, or what I SAID, so I went up to him after the game and was like ‘I don’t remember if I said yes, but YES!’ just to make sure,” she laughed. This is actually pretty common to be so excited you don’t remember your proposal: co-host Emmalyn, who recently got married in September, said she felt the same way and was so excited she stood back in awe and their families had actually been nervous she’d said no! Of course, this wasn’t the case for either of the happy couples, and now Alicia says she has pictures and memories that will last her a lifetime as she and Sean diving head first into planning for a 2021 wedding.

Beside Alicia, yet another guest was waiting with a big surprise reveal of his own. Hold The Line Hockey Tournament Founder Nik Tasiopoulos who organizes the local charity event bringing former Bruins players to play vs. local first responders to benefit fallen heroes in our communities announced he and his fiance are expecting their first child in May. “For the first one, we like the name Jackson,” Nik said with a smile that confirmed  he and his fiance are planning for more children to come in the Tasiopoulos household. Yet that’s not all that’s in store for 2020: Nik revealed he and his fiance are also planning for a September wedding at Granite Links in Quincy, an elegant golf course that boasts a beautiful view of the Boston skyline. On top of all of that, Nik is already also planning for Hold The Line 2020 to benefit Officer Gresca and his family of Waltham. “It’s amazing how the first responder and hockey community overlaps, and we already have a waiting list of first responders ready to play in August of 2020.”
